Let \(A_1,A_2,\dots, A_n\) be positive invertible Hilbert space operators satisfying \(0< mI\leq A_j\leq MI\) for some positive bounds \(0< m< M\). Let also \(G(A_1,A_2,\dots, A_n)\) be the recently defined geometric mean for these operators [see \textit{T.\,Ando}, \textit{C.\,K.\thinspace Li} and \textit{R.\,Mathias} [Linear Algebra Appl.\ 385, 305--334 (2004; Zbl 1063.47013)]. Set \(K= \left\{{(m+ M)^2\over 4mM}\right\}^{{n-1\over 2}}\). The author proves two extensions of the classical Kantorovich inequality, namely, \[ {A_1+ A_2+\cdots+ A_n\over n}\leq KG(A_1, A_2,\dots, A_n), \] and also, for all \(x\), \[ (A_1 x,x)(A_2 x,x)\dots(A_n x,x)\leq (KG(A_1, A_2,\dots, A_n))^n. \] It is shown that more precise estimates can be made in some special cases.
