The paper deals with stability conditions for a scalar linear Volterra integro-differential equation with a nonlinear perturbation: \[ x'(t) = h(t) x(t) + \int_0^t C(at-s)x(s) \,ds + g(t, x(t)),\quad t\geq 0. \] Here, \(h\) and \(C\) are some continuous functions on \(\mathbb R_+\) and \(\mathbb R\), respectively, \(a>1\) and \(g\) is a continuous function in both variables that satisfies \(| g(t,\,x(t))| \leq \lambda(t)| x(t)| \), with \(\lambda\) a continuous function. Based on a suitable Lyapunov functional, the authors derive sufficient conditions that guarantee stability, uniform stability and uniform asymptotic stability of the zero solution of this equation.
