Let \(A\) be the two-generated algebra of generic \(3\times 3\) matrices over the ring of rational numbers with denominators not divisible by \(p\) and \(B\) is the two-generated algebra of generic \(3\times 3\) matrices over an infinite field of characteristic \(p\) (\(p>3\)). The authors prove that the kernel of the canonical epimorphism \(A\to B\) is equal to \(pA\).
