The author defines canonical representations for the hyperboloid of one sheet \({\mathcal X}=G/H\) and for the Lobachevsky space \({\mathcal L}=G/K\) where \(G=\text{SO}_0(1, n-2)\) and \(K=\text{SO}_0(n-1)\), as the restriction to \(G\) of representations associated with a cone of overgroups \(\widetilde{G}=\text{SO}_0(2, n-1)\) and \(\widetilde{G}=\text{SO}_0(1, n)\) for \(\mathcal X\) and \(\mathcal L\), respectively. The author determines explicitly the interaction of Lie operators of \(\widetilde{G}\) with operators intertwining the canonical representations of \(G\) associated with a cone. It is interesting that these interaction includes the differential operators of the \textit{second} order.
