The authors consider the partial differential equation with \(p\)-Laplacian \(\text{div}(| Du|^{p-2}A(x)Du)+c(x)| u|^{p-2}u=0\) in \(\{x:| x|>a\}\subset \mathbb R^N\), where \(p>1\), \(N\geq 2\), \(a>0\), \(Du=(\partial u/\partial x_1,\dots,\partial u/\partial x_N)^T\), and the function \(c\) and the matrix function \(A\) satisfy certain continuity conditions. The results of this paper can be essentially viewed as extensions of those by \textit{C. H. Philos} [Arch. Math. 53, No. 5, 482--492 (1989; Zbl 0661.34030)] who invented the technique of weighted integral averages in the oscillation theory of linear ordinary differential equations. The proof is based on generalized Riccati technique. For similar results, i.e., an extension of the Philos results to the higher-dimensional half-linear case see \textit{R. Mařík} [Appl. Math. Comput. 150, No. 1, 69--87 (2004; Zbl 1046.35034)].
