    The authors establish results concerning existence of multiple nonnegative solutions to the singular positone boundary value problem of the form \[ [\varphi(y')]'+ q(t) f(t,y(t-\tau))= 0, \] \[ t\in (0,1)\setminus\{\tau\},\;y(t)=\xi(t),\;-\tau\leq t\leq 0,\;y(1)= 0, \] using Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem in a cone, where \(\varphi(u)= |u|^{p-2}u\), \(p> 1\) and \(0<\tau< 1\), \(\xi\in C([-\tau, 0])\), \(\xi(t)> 0\) on \([-\tau,0]\) and \(\xi(0)= 0\). An example is given to illustrate the results obtained.
