The generalized Weierstrass system for nonconstant mean curvature surfaces and the nonlinear sigma model (Q2509159): Difference between revisions

In the present study an investigation of the generalized Weierstrass system is initiated for the case in which the mean curvature of the surface is not constant. It is shown, for example, that there exists a transformation from solutions of the generalized Weierstrass system to solutions of a nonlinear sigma model system, and of course, a transformation from solutions of a nonlinear sigma model system to solutions of the generalized Weierstrass system. Some aspects of integrability are discussed.
