The author shows that a solid convex subset \(A\) of \(L_0(X,\mu)\) gives rise to a disjoint decomposition \(X=X_0\cup X_1\) such that \(A| _{X_0}\) is dense in \(L_0(X,\mu)\) and \(A| _{X_1}\) is bounded in measure in \(L_1(X,\mu)\). As a consequence, the author proves the following improvement of the Nikishin theorem: If \(A\) is closed in the topology of convergence in measure and bounded in measure, then there is \(g\in A\) with \(g(x)> 0\) a.e. such that \((1/g)A\) is a bounded subset of \(L_1(X,\mu)\).
