[For part I, cf. J. Group Theory 1, No. 1, 59-64 (1998; Zbl 0892.20018).] Let \(h(n,r)\) be the number of groups of order \(n\) that have \(r\) generators and can be defined by the same number \(r\) of relations in these generators. We write \(h_{nil}(n,r)\) if only nilpotent groups are considered. A number of estimates for \(h(n,r)\) and \(h_{nil}(n,r)\) is proved. I suggest to the reader to acquaint with the very interesting and informative discussion of this and other related problems.
