The Grothendieck group \(X(U)\) of finitely generated projective modules over the complex group algebra of the Hall universal countable locally finite group \(U\) is considered and its rational and integral structure is described. A ``character'' is assigned to a finitely generated projective \(\mathbb C U\)-module and a characterization of the ring of characters of \(U\) is given. The Grothendieck group of projective \(\mathbb C U\)-modules is compared with the Grothendieck group of projective \(\mathbb C S\)-modules, where \(S\) is a restricted symmetric group. Finally, the author identifies the subgroup of \(X(U)\) determined by finitely generated projective modules over a field of characteristic \(>0\).
