Let \(X\) be a Hausdorff space. Let \(F(X)\) denote the set of all nonempty closed subsets of \(X\), endowed with the Vietoris topology. A continuous selector on \(X\) is a continuous function \(s:F(X)\to X\) such that \(s(A)\in A\) for each \(A\in F(X)\). A base \(B\) for \(X\) is said to be non-Archimedean if whenever \(U\) and \(V\) are intersecting elements of \(B\), then one of the sets \(U\) or \(V\) is contained in the other. In this paper the authors provide several characterizations of non-Archimedean spaces which admit a continuous selector. In particular, they show that a non-Archimedean space \(X\) has a continuous selector if and only if it is topologically well orderable. Among others, they also provide a characterization which involves the complete metrizability of the subspace of first countable points of \(X\).
