    The authors consider the following difference equation \[ x_{n+1}=\alpha +\frac{x_{n-k}}{\sum_{i=0}^{k-1}c_ix_{n-i}},n=0,1,\dots , \] where \(k\in \mathbb{N},\) \(c_i\geq 0,\) \(i=0,\dots ,k-1,\) \(\sum_{i=0}^{k-1}c_i=1, \) and \(\alpha <-1.\) They prove that the difference equation has solutions which monotonically converge to zero.
