A theorem on local resolution of singularities of real-analytic vector fields in dimension 3 is proved. The proof consists of two parts: First, the description of the local strategy for the resolution of singularities is presented. Second, it is proved that this local strategy can be globalized. The Newton polyhedron technique is used in the resolution of singularities. The author defines the notion ``derived polygon'' which has some similarities with the ``characteristic polygon'' introduced by Hironava. In \S 4.5, the fundamental notion of stable coordinates is introduced. Roughly speaking, the local strategy of resolution of singularities consists of computation of the Newton polyhedron and the main invariant with respect to a stable system of coordinates. In the second part of the proof, \S 5 includes the notion of weighted blowing-up. It is shown that the local strategy for resolution of singularities can be globalized. For the proof, the author uses the fact that the main invariant and the choice of a weighted-vector are independent of the given stable system of coordinates. The main difference of the results obtained in the paper is that the proposed global strategy of resolution leads to an unique choice of local centers and an a priori absence of cycles. This is due to a conveniently choosen enumeration of the exceptional divisors. The author shows as well that the blowing-up centers are always contained in the set of nonelementary points. The example given in the paper justifies the use of weighted blowing-up in the resolution of singularities of vector fields in dimension greater than 2.
