A Delone simplex of a lattice \(\Lambda\) in \(\mathbb{R}^d\) is the convex hull of a set of \(d+ 1\) points of \(\Lambda\) which lie on the surface of a ball that contains no point of \(\Lambda\) in its interior. The relative volume of a lattice simplex \(L\) is given as \(\text{vol}(L)d!\). What is the maximum relative volume \(mv(d)\) of \(d\)-dimensional Delone simplicies? For \(d\leq 4\) all Delone simplices have relative volume 1, but the sequence \(mv(d)\) is (weakly) increasing to infinity. In this note the authors prove that it increases at least exponentially, greatly improving the previously known linear lower bound. The key to this result is their Theorem 1: For every pair of dimensions \(d_1\) and \(d_2\), \(mv(d_1+ d_2)\geq mv(d_1)\cdot mv(d_2)\).
