An asymptotic-numerical method is presented for solving singularly perturbed convection-diffusion two-point boundary-value problems with a discontinuous source term. The solution of these problems possesses boundary and interior layers in the domain of interest. First, they construct a zeroth-order asymptotic approximate solution, and then obtain those terms via solving the corresponding initial-value or terminal-value problems numerically. The resultant initial-value or terminal-value problems are solved by using classical finite difference schemes on the layer resolving Shishkin mesh. Error estimates are obtained for the proposed scheme. Some numerical experiments are carried out to show the efficiency of the method.
