Using the Lubin-Tate theory, the author introduces and studies a new class of \(p\)-adic exponentials \(E_m(t)\) of the Artin-Hasse type. In particular, he finds necessary and sufficient conditions for the overconvergence of the functions \(E_m(t^p)/E_m(t)\). The above exponentials arise naturally as solutions of solvable differential modules over the Robba ring \(\mathcal R_K\), where \(K\) is a complete ultrametric field with residue field \(k\) of characteristic \(p\), and their overconvergence property reflects a new, stronger version of the Frobenius structure theorem for differential equations. Then the exponentials are used to lift the Artin-Schreier complex (defined in positive characteristic) to characteristic 0 and to deform it into the Kummer complex. Further, this leads to a classification of rank one differential modules and its explicit connection with the abelian Galois theory for the field \(k((t))\). The above techniques is a continuation and significant improvement of the methods by \textit{P. Robba} [Ann. Inst. Fourier 35, No. 2, 13--55 (1985; Zbl 0548.12016)] and \textit{S. Matsuda} [Duke Math. J. 77, No. 3, 607--625 (1995; Zbl 0849.12013)].
