The authors introduce a concept of proximal subdifferential for functions defined on a Riemannian manifold and also establish a decrease principle from which they deduce solvability and implicit function theorems for nonsmooth functions on Riemannian manifolds. As applications, the authors prove several fixed point theorems for expansive and nonexpansive mappings and some perturbations of such mappings defined on Riemannian manifolds. The results of this paper are interesting and useful for the study of fixed point theorems.
