The authors study well-posedness and uniform energy decay rate of solutions to the equation \(u_{tt}-\triangle u=f(u)\) satisfying the boundary condition \(\partial _nu+u+g(u_t)=h(u)\) in a finite energy space. Global solution and blow-up are also treated. The theory presented allows to consider both superlinear and sublinear behaviors of the dissipation in the presence of unstructured sources.
