    Un polyèdre non compact a la propriété de Tucker si, pour tout sous-polyèdre compact \(K\subset M\), le groupe fondamental de chaque composante de \(M\setminus K\) est engendré par un nombre fini d'éléments. L'auteur montre que si une variété PL a le type d'homotopie propre d'un polyèdre ayant la propriété de Tucker, alors elle a aussi cette propriété.
