The paper deals with a system of delay differential equations of neutral type \[ (x(t)+cx(t-r))'=A(t,x(t))x(t)+f(t,x(t),x(t-\tau)), \] where \(c,r,\tau>0\) are constants, and \(A(t,x)\), \(f(t,x,y)\) are continuous vector functions \(T\)-periodic in \(t\). By using degree theory, sufficient conditions in terms of the eigenvalues of the matrix \(A^T(t,x)A(t,x)\) are given to ensure that the system has at least one \(T\)-periodic solution. For the particular case \(A(t,x)=A(t)\), it is proved that, under some additional assumptions, the system has a globally attracting \(T\)-periodic solution. For it, a suitable Lyapunov functional is constructed.
