    Several inequalities are obtained for the commutator \(AX-XB\) of two positive operators \(A\) and \(B\) on a complex Hilbert space. Sample result: if \(A\) and \(B\) are compact and positive, then, for every unitarily invariant norm \(| | | \cdot| | | \), we have \(| | | AX-XB| | | \leq | | | X| | | \, | | | A\oplus B| | |\).
