The main purpose of the present paper is to present a methodology for solving the governing equations of electrochemistry under conditions of dilute electrolyte solution. The numerical method is derived directly from the governing equations. This is done in two parts: (i) the spatial discretization is derived by integrating the governing equations over grid-sized cells; (ii) the temporal discretization is derived by splitting the total time derivative into gropus of physically related terms, and applying the implicit Euler method to two terms and a projection method to the third term.
