Let \(G\) be a semisimple algebraic group over a field \(k\) and \(X\) a smooth and geometrically connected curve over \(k\). A principal \(G\)-bundle \(E\) on \(X\) is said to be semistable if \(\deg (E_P(\mathfrak{p})) \leq \deg (E(\mathfrak{g}))\) for every parabolic subgroup \(P\) of \(G\) and every reduction of the structure group \(E_P \subset E\) of \(E\) to \(P\), where \(\mathfrak{p}\) (resp. \(\mathfrak{g}\)) is the Lie algebra of \(P\) (resp. \(G\)). Now assume that \(k\) is finite and that \(X\) has a \(k\)-point. The fundamental scheme \(\pi (X)\) of \(X\) was defined by \textit{M. V. Nori} [Compos. Math. 33, No.~1, 29--41 (1976; Zbl 0337.14016)]. A principal \(G\)-bundle \(E\) on \(X\) is said to be strongly semistable if all its Frobenius pull-backs are semistable. Here the author proves that \(E\) is strongly semistable if and only if it is induced by a representation of group schemes \(\pi (X) \to G\).
