Let \(B^n\) stand for the unit ball in \(\mathbb{C}^n\) with respect to an arbitrary norm \(\| \; \| \), and let \[ T(z) =\{l_z\in L(\mathbb{C}^n,\mathbb{C}) : l_z(z)=\| z\| ,\, \| l_z\| =1\}. \] A mapping \(f:B^n\rightarrow\mathbb{C}^n\) is called parabolic starlike if for each \(z\in B^n\) the quantity \[ \frac{1}{\| z\| }\, l_z([Df(z)]^{-1}f(z)) \] belongs to a parabolic subregion of the right half-plane. A parabolic subregion is, for example, the image of the unit disk \(\mathbb{D}\) under a mapping symmetric about the real axis and convex in the direction of the imaginary axis. In this paper the authors use the method of subordination chains to obtain growth and covering theorems for parabolic starlike mappings, as well as coefficient estimates. Corresponding results in one complex variable were obtained by \textit{F. Rønning} [Ann. Univ. Mariae Curie Skłodowska, Sect. A 45, 117--122 (1991; Zbl 0769.30011)]. In the last part of the paper, the authors include a series of examples of parabolic starlike mappings, and show that certain subclasses of such mappings are preserved under the Roper-Suffridge extension operator.
