The author considers a notion of generalized inverse (á la Moore--Penrose) for operators between Hilbert \(C^*\)-modules. Using a characterization of those operators having a generalized inverse, a Douglas-type [\textit{R.\,G.\thinspace Douglas}, Proc.\ Am.\ Math.\ Soc.\ 17, 413--415 (1966; Zbl 0146.12503)] majorization result is proven. The continuity of the generalized inverse is also studied.
