Let \(\{M_k\}_{k\geq-1}\) and \(\{N_k\}_{k\geq-1}\) be two families of polynomials defined by the following rules \[ M_{-1}(z)\equiv0,\quad M_0(z)\equiv1,\quad N_{-1}(z)\equiv0,\quad N_0(z)\equiv1, \] \[ M_{k+1}(z)=(z-\alpha_k)M_k(z)-\sum_{i=\max(-1,k-q_1)}^{k-1}\beta_{i+1}^{[k]}M_i(z), \] \[ N_{k+1}(z)=(z-\gamma_k)N_k(z)-\sum_{i=\max(-1,k-q_2)}^{k-1}\delta_{i+1}^{[k]}N_i(z) \] where \(q_1,q_2\in\mathbb N\cup\{\infty\}\) are orders of the corresponding recurrence relations. The author analyzes the behavior of the ``perturbed family'' \(\{M_k\}_{k\geq-1}\) by means of the ``original family'' \(\{N_k\}_{k\geq-1}\) of the ``perturbations'' \((\alpha_i-\gamma_i)\), \( (\beta_i^{[j]}-\delta_i^{[j]}),\;(q_1-q_2)\). In particular, this approach gives ``a tool to study, in the perturbed case, some orthogonal polynomials defined by a Sobolev inner product \[ \langle P,Q\rangle=\sum_{s=0}^m\int\limits_{\mathbb R}P^s(t)Q^s(t)\,d\mu_s(t),\quad m\in\mathbb N, \] where \(d\mu_s\) may be a Dirac measure.'' The exact formulaltions of the results are too awkward for a short review. Note that the paper is a continuation of the work [\textit{E. Leopold}, Numer. Algorithms 33, No. 1--4, 357--366 (2003; Zbl 1035.65157)].
