Let \(R\) be a commutative ring with identity. This paper introduces the notion of a uniformly primary ideal. A proper ideal \(Q\) of \(R\) is uniformly primary if there exists a positive integer \(n\) such that whenever \(r,s\in R\) satisfy \(rs\in Q\), then \(s^{n}\in Q\). The smallest such \(n\) is denoted by \(\text{ord}(Q)\). \ Two previously studied notions of ``strongly primary'' are (1) a \(P\)-primary ideal \(Q\) is Noether strongly primary if there exists an \(n\) with \(P^{n}\subseteq Q\) (and denote the least such \(n\) by \(e(Q)\)) and (2) a \(P\)-primary ideal \(Q\) is Mori strongly primary if there exists \(r\in R\backslash Q\) with \( rP\subseteq Q\). It is shown that a Noether strongly primary ideal is Mori strong and uniformly primary (with \(\text{ord}(q)\leq e(Q)\)) but that there are no other implications. Moreover, all three notions are equivalent to being primary in a strongly Laskerian ring (and hence in a noetherian ring). Also, if \(R\) is a \(\mathbb{Q}\)-algebra, then \(Q\) is uniformly \(P\)-primary if and only if \(Q\) is Noether strongly \(P\)-primary and in this case \(\text{ord}(Q)=e(Q)\). Stability properties of uniformly primary ideals are given along with a number of interesting examples.
