While the modular vector fields of Poisson manifolds were first defined by Koszul in 1985, the modular classes of Lie algebroids, generalizing those of Poisson manifolds, were developed by \textit{S. Evens, J.-H. Lu}, and \textit{A. Weinstein} [Q. J. Math., Oxf. II. Ser. 50, No.~200, 417--436 (1999; Zbl 0968.58014)], and the modular classes of Lie algebroids with twisted Poisson structures -- by \textit{Y. Kosmann-Schwarzbach} and \textit{C. Laurent-Gengoux} [Proceedings of the 4th conference on Poisson geometry, Luxembourg, June 7--11, 2004. Luxembourg: Université du Luxembourg. Travaux Mathématiques 16, 315--339 (2005; Zbl 1097.53054)]. Recall that a twisted Poisson structure in a Lie algebroid \(A\) consists of a section \(\pi\) of \(\wedge^2A\) and a section \(\psi\) of \(\wedge^3A^*\) such that \(\psi\) is closed with respect to the Lie algebroid de Rham operator \(d_A\) and \(\frac{1}{2}[\pi,\pi]_A=(\wedge^3\pi^\#)\psi\), where \([\cdot,\cdot]_A\) is the Lie algebroid Schouten bracket. Such a structure is called regular if \(\pi\) is of constant rank, i.e., if the image \(B\) of \(\pi^\#\) is a vector subbundle and thus a Lie subalgebroid of \(A\). This Lie algebroid has a canonical representation in the kernel \(C\subset A^*\) of \(\pi^\#\). The modular class of the twisted Lie algebroid Poisson structure \((A,\pi,\psi)\) is proved to be \((\pi_B^\#)(\theta_B)\), where \(\theta_B\) is the characteristic class of the Lie algebroid \(B\) with the representation on the line bundle \(\wedge^{\text{top}}(C)\) induced by the canonical representation. This formula is used to compute the modular classes of Lie algebras with a twisted triangular \(r\)-matrix. The special case of \(r\)-matrices associated to Frobenius Lie algebras is also studied.
