The paper deals with a two-dimensional laminar flow of an electrically Newtonian fluid induced by a permeable semi-infinite stretching plate, with a magnetic field which is applied normal to the surface. The external velocity and the magnetic field are of inverse-linear form. The flow can be modelled by an autonomous third order nonlinear differential equation which depends on two parameters: the suction/injection parameter and the magnetic parameter. The shooting method is used to compute the solution, and the effect of the magnetic field is studied.
