The author proposes a successive iteration scheme to approximate a positive solution of the third-order ordinary differential equation \[ x'''+q(u'')f(t,u), \;\;u(0)=A,\;u(1)=B,\;u''(0)=C,\;t\in I=[0,1], \] where \(f\) is a Caratheodory function and \(f(t,u)\) is nondecreasing (nonincreasing) with respect to \(u\in [0,+\infty)\) for a.e. \(t\in I,\) \(q\) is nonincreasing (nondecreasing) on \((-\infty,0].\)
