Given a central quadratic skew field extension \(F \subset G = F(u)\) (the generator \(u\) is central in \(G\)) and a natural \((G,G)\)-bimodule \(W = G\mathop \bigotimes_F G\), in this paper some previous results of the author [Linear Algebra Appl. 425, No.~1, 26--62 (2007; Zbl 1120.15011)] concerning the homogeneous biquadratic matrix problem are supplemented and generalized. The problem is to find the canonical form for rectangular matrices over \(W\) with help of left elementary transformations of rows and right elementary transformations of columns over \(G\). The solution is obtained by reducing the problem in the separable (resp. inseparable) case to the semilinear (resp. pseudolinear) pencil problem.
