An explicit formula for the entries of the inverse of a band lower triangular Toeplitz matrix is derived by means of divided difference with repeated nodes. The formula is used to obtain a bound on the condition number of preconditioned matrices. This formula is also used to prove that the minimal eigenvalue of preconditioned matrix is well separated from the origin.
