Let \(X\) be a Hausdorff uniform space with uniformity defined by a saturated family of pseudometrics, uniformly continuous on \(X \times X\). A set-valued dynamical system is a pair \((X,T)\), where \(T\) is a set-valued map on \(X\). An endpoint \(w\) of \(T\) is a fixed point of \(T\), i.e., \(w \in W\) and \(T(w) = \{w\}\). With these and other definitions the authors introduce the concepts of generalized pseudodistances and generalized gauge maps for set-valued dynamical systems, and define further various nonlinear asymptotic contractions, contractions with respect to pseudodistances and gauges. These definitions are too involved to quote here. The authors present a method for establishing conditions that guarantee the existence and uniqueness of endpoints of dynamical systems, and conditions for the convergence of sequences of iterations towards an endpoint. A number of examples are provided.
