Let \(C\) be a smooth and connected projective curve defined over an algebraically closed field, \(G\) a semisimple linear algebraic group and \(P\subset G\) a proper parabolic subgroup. Fix a strictly anti-dominant character \(\chi\) of \(P\). Let \(E_G\) be a semistable principal \(G\)-bundle. In positive characteristic assume that \(E_G\) is strongly semistable. Fix \(\epsilon >0\). Here the author proves the existence of a finite morphism \(f: C' \to C\), \(C'\) a smooth curve, and a reduction \(E'_P\) of \(f^\ast (E_G)\) to \(P\) such that \(\deg (E'_P(\chi ))/ \deg (f) < \epsilon\), where \(E'_P(\chi )\) is the line bundle on \(C'\) associated to the principal bundle \(E'_P\) and the character \(\chi\).
