The author studies the heteroclinic connections of linearly unstable plane waves for three integrable perturbation of the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation. The heteroclinic connections of the unstable plane waves are constructed using an auto-Bäcklund transformation obtained from inverse spectral theory. The main results are very interesting.
