Let \(G\) be a semigroup and \(k\) a field. A finite dimensional not necessarily associative \(G\)-graded \(k\)-algebra \(A=\oplus_{g\in G}A_g\) is of an associative type if there exists a map \(\lambda:G\times G\times G\to k^*\) such that for any triple of homogeneous elements \( a_{g_i}\in A_{g_i}\) the following identity holds: \(a_{g_1}\left(a_{g_2}a_{g_3}\right) = \lambda_{g_1,g_2,g_3} \left(a_{g_1} a_{g_2}\right) a_{g_3}\). It is shown there exists a unique maximal left (right, two-sided) homogeneous ideal in \(A\) in which the groupoid of homogeneous elements is nilpotent. It is equivalent to the property that any homogeneous element in the ideal is nilpotent. There are given various characterizations of maximal nilpotent ideals. The special case when each homogeneous component has dimension at most 1 is considered. If \(G\) is a group then under some assumptions it is shown that \(A\) is a deformation of a group algebra \(kG\). An algebra \(A\) is semisimple if \(A\) has no two-sided nilpotent ideals. If \(G\) is a totally ordered semigroup and each homogeneous component has dimension at most 1 then \(A\) is a direct some of simple ideals. Simple algebras are deformations of matrix algebras. The special case when each homogeneous component has dimension at most 1 is considered. It is shown under some assumptions that if \(G\) is a group then \(A\) is a deformation of a group algebra \(kG\). There are some other results of a similar nature.
