The authors study two-dimensional linear systems of ordinary differential equations of the form \[ y''=a(x)y+b(x)z,\quad z''=b(x)y-a(x)z \] which are known to be of variational origin. The paper essentially consists of lengthy lists of the Noether operators, partial Noether operators and first integrals for all arising cases. It turns out that the partial Noether operators are the same as the Noether operators.
