A \(2\pi\)-periodic Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation in one spatial dimension is considered. It is known that the bifurcation breaks the translational symmetry of the trivial branch. In this paper it is shown that bifurcation diagrams of a given discretization corresponding to several mesh sizes may vary significantly according to the factorization properties of the number of grid points per period.
