Let \(\overline k\) be an algebraic closure of a finite field \(k\). The authors consider (multi-) sets \(S\) of \(n\) points in a projective space \(\text{PG}(N, \overline k)\) such that \(S\) is invariant under the absolute Galois group of \(\overline k\) over \(k\). The main result is a closed formula for the generating function of the number of orbits of \(\text{PGL}(N+1, k)\) on such (multi-) sets \(S\). This formula is made explicit for \(N\leq 2\), thus extending results for \(N=1\) of \textit{A. Lopez} et al. [Finite Fields Appl. 8, No. 2, 193--206 (2002; Zbl 1036.14011)].
