The dual-phase-lag model is a realistic model in some problems of heat transfer which was introduced to avoid the instantaneous propagation which is present in more classical models. The author use this model to analyze heat conduction in an infinite cylindrical domain, the boundary conditions are assumed to decay exponentially. First the authors write the equations for the linearized dual-phase-lag model. Then the Laplace transform is applied. The new problem is analyzed numerically by a control-volume formulation and with the use of the hyperbolic shape functions. The numerical results are discussed. The main difficulty in this analysis are presented in the first part of the paper as well as a discussion of some real-world situation in which this model seems to be applicable.
