    The article deals with the superposition operator \(S_\varphi(f)(z) = \varphi(f(z))\) between the Bloch-type spaces \({\mathcal B}^\alpha\), \(0 < \alpha < \infty\), of all analytic functions \(f(z)\) on the unit disk satisfying \[ \| f\| _{{\mathcal B}^\alpha} = | f(0)| + \sup_{| z| < 1}(1 - | z| ^2)^\alpha \, | f'(z)| < \infty \] (\({\mathcal B}^\alpha\) with this norm is a Banach space). The author proves the following statements: if \(0 < \beta < \alpha\), then \(S_\varphi\) maps \({\mathcal B}^\alpha\) into \({\mathcal B}^\beta\) if and only if \(\varphi\) is a constant function (Theorem~4); if \(0 < \alpha < 1\) and \(\alpha \leq \beta\), then \(S_\varphi\) is a bounded operator between \({\mathcal B}^\alpha\) and \({\mathcal B}^\beta\) for any entire function \(\varphi\) (Theorem~5); if \(1 \leq \alpha \leq \beta\) and \(\varphi\) is entire, then the following statements are equivalent: (a) \(S_\varphi\) maps \({\mathcal B}^\alpha\) into \({\mathcal B}^\beta\), (b) \(S_\varphi\) is a bounded operator between between \({\mathcal B}^\alpha\) and \({\mathcal B}^\beta\), (c) \(\varphi\) is a polynomial of degree at most \((\beta - 1) / (\alpha - 1)\) for \(\alpha > 1\) and \(\varphi\) is an entire function either of order less than \(1\) or of order \(1\) and type \(0\) for \(\alpha = 1\) (Theorems 6 and 7).
