An embedding \(f: M\to\mathbb{R}^3\), where \(M= S^1\times(-1,1)/_{\sim\varphi}\) and \(\sim\varphi\) is induced by \(\varphi(p,t)= (-p, -t)\) (\(|p|= 1\), \(p\in\mathbb{R}^2\), \(|t|= 1\)) is called a Möbius strip and its line \(t= 0\) centerline of the strip. The authors investigate Möbius strips which are ruled surfaces with vanishing Gaussian curvature, the Möbius developable strips, where a) the centerline is a curvature line (called principal), and b) the centerline is a geodesic line (called rectifying). Using some surgery and Fourier expansions they finally obtain as main results a): There exists a principal real-analytic Möbius developable strip being isotopic to a given Möbius strip, and b): There exists a rectifying real-analytic Möbius developable strip being isotopic to a given Möbius strip. Impressive figures make clear the sophisticated proofs.
