The author obtains a new localized version of a gradient estimate for Schrödinger operators over complete manifolds without boundary and with Ricci curvature bounded from below by a negative constant. The main result is applied in deriving a Liouville type theorem, Harnack inequality and Gaussian lower bound for the heat kernel of Schrödinger operators.
