The authors deal with boundary value problems in a bounded domain for the stationary one-dimensional Kawahara equation. Under the condition that the coefficient of a higher order derivative approaches zero, the authors prove existence and uniqueness of a strong solution and its asymptotics. The tool is the contraction mapping principle.
