The authors study asymptotic error expansions for a mixed finite element approximation for integro-differential equations. The used approximations are improved by means of Richardson extrapolation. Two different schemes are derived to realize the studied technique. New asymptotic expansions are provided as well. A numerical example the demonstrates developed theory.
