The authors give a list of all homogeneous simply connected spaces \(M= G/H\) such that \(G\) is a simple compact Lie group and the isotropy representation of the stabilizer \(H\) has exactly two irreducible summands. In the case, when \(H\) is not a maximal connected subgroup, they classify all invariant Einstein metrics on \(M\). There are 38 infinite families of such spaces of which 30 have Einstein metrics and 65 remaining examples of which 46 admit Einstein metrics. In the case, when \(H\) is a maximal subgroup, they determine whether \(M\) admits a \(G\)-invariant Einstein metric. There exist 5 infinite families of such spaces which admit Einstein metric and 13 remaining spaces.
