Let \(X\) be a topological space; and \(f:X\to X\) be a continuous function. The authors show, by appropriate examples, that i) if \(X\) is Hausdorff and \(x\in X\) is an almost periodic point then \(\text{cl}[O(f;x)]\) need not be minimal; ii) if \(X\) is locally compact and \(T_1\), then not every minimal set of \(f\) is compact; iii) if \(X\) is Hausdorff, then there may be almost periodic points \(x\in X\) such that not all points of \(\text{cl}[O(f;x)]\) are almost periodic. This solves in the negative three questions posed by \textit{J.-H. Mai} and \textit{W.-H. Sun} [Topology Appl. 154, No. 15, 2873--2879 (2007; Zbl 1202.54029)].
