The author consider the system of equation describing the thermoelasticity with second sound in one space dimension. He consider the case in which the coefficients are space and time-dependent. For Dirichlet-Neumann type boundary conditions it was showed the existence of global (in time) solutions. In the proof he used the Kato theory. At the end, it was proved that the energy decays exponentially. The references are not complete. For example in the papers by \textit{J. Gawinecki} [Diss. Math. 344, 61 p. (1995; Zbl 0844.35068) and Diss. Math. 407, 51 p. (2002; Zbl 1007.35001)], one can find the proof of global in time solution of the Cauchy problem for nonlinear thermoelasticity with second sound and the proof local in time for the solution of the inital-boundary value problem for nonlinear hyperbolic thermoelasticity with second sound in the three-dimensional space.
