The paper deals with a system of partial differential equations modeling the diffusion in the presence of convection of a penetrant liquid in a polymer filling a bounded domain. Weak formulation of the initial-boundary value problem for this system is given and the existence of a weak solution is proved by means of a priori estimates and the homotopy property of the Leray-Schauder degree.
