The authors consider the iterative solution of the nonlinear equation \(F(x)=0\), where \(F\) maps an open convex subset of a Banach space into another Banach space and possesses a second Fréchet derivative that is only Hölder-continuous. Semilocal convergence of a third-order method is shown. The theoretical results are illustrated for two nonlinear Fredholm integral equations.
